More than 100 countries are attendind the Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change that is going on now. Any deals that may come out of this conference is going to affect the poor. There seems to be no time at this Conference for binding agreements.
Climate change affects everybody, rich and poor. But it is the poor that is most vulenarble to it. The poor suffer much more to any floodings, droughts, famine, crop failures, and other natural disasters that arise from these climate changes.
Climage change can also lead to more territorial disputes and conflicts between countries, and within countries. |

This UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference has commenced. So far the talks are by officials, experts and NGOs.
A draft document has been submitted by the UN. [Sorry I'm not allowed to link]
Next week national leaders, including Obama from the US, Wen from China and Singh from India, will arrive for the hard bargaining, hopefully to reach a deal. |
